History of MED-LOGICS, Inc.

MED-LOGICS begins with the story of two great American entrepreneurs. With humble beginnings, MED-LOGICS now sells into over 70 countries and has become a global brand recognized for high quality ophthalmic devices.

Incorporated by Betty Ross on September 17th, 1992 as a LASIK Blade distributor for various microkeratomes, MED-LOGICS quickly became a dominant brand for LASIK Blades.

MED-LOGICS became the first company to receive 510(k) clearance from the FDA for marketing a replacement microkeratome blade on December 9th, 1996.

MED-LOGICS was granted U.S. Patent No. 6,663,644 on December 16th, 2003 for features of the revolutionary Calibrated LASIK Blade (CLB®) design.

MED-LOGICS adds the CleanTouch® PVA product line to complement its opthalmic equipment and disposable product.

MED-LOGICS is granted market approval by the FDA to begin selling it’s own microkeratome, the ML7®. This microkeratome was developed to be more advanced than other microkeratomes, largely due to the software controls.

MED-LOGICS introduces the ML7® Donor Cornea System, bringing the quality and predictability of the ML7® Microkeratome to donor cornea procedures.

MED-LOGICS acquires Enlighten Technology, Inc., an early-stage company developing the CataPulse®, a novel device for lens removal.

MED-LOGICS introduces the Nitro® Donor Cornea System, the first system designed specifically for use on donor tissue.

In October of 2013, MED-LOGICS, Inc. relocated all operations from Laguna Hills, California to Athens, Texas. A new manufacturing facility was custom built from the ground up to meet the needs of the company’s operations and development endeavors.

MED-LOGICS was granted CE Approval for the CataPulse® Lens Removal System and all associated components. The CataPulse® Lens Removal System is considered by British Standards Institute to be a novel technology, which required extensive research and testing to be approved for market use.
